Rejected Email Addresses

A rejected email means that the user might have added an incorrect email, and then the unintended recipient clicked the This is not my email address link in the verification message (described in the previous section). When an email is rejected, it no longer receives automatic verification messages (that is, those sent from method C, described previously).

Moreover, the following occurs:

  • The rejected icon is displayed for the email address in the following areas:
    • The Contact Information dialog box, which is opened by updating contact information in the Personal > About Me screen in Profile.
    • The Email Addresses section of the Personal > Contact Information screen in People.
  • When users log in, a message prompt informs them that their email was rejected. See Verification Message Sent Out.

When users edit the email address and save changes, the rejected status is removed from the email address.
