The Rehire with Contract form is used rehire terminated contract employees. It has the same fields as the Rehire form, with an additional Work Contract section.
The Work Contract drop-down list isn’t a required field. If you submit the form without selecting a work contract, it works the same as the standard Rehire form.
Select an employee in the Terminated Employee Search field by clicking on their name in the list. You can enter all or part of their name or national ID number in the search field to filter the results. When you select an employee, the form automatically populates the information from their terminated employee record except for the values in the Entitlement Policy and Onboarding Policy fields. The information can be updated to reflect the current values for the rehire.
When you assign a work contract in this form that overlaps an existing contract for the employee, Dayforce end-dates the original record and creates a new record. End-dating follows these rules:
- If the new work contract starts during an existing work contract, the existing work contract is end-dated one minute before the new work contract.
- If the employee has future work contracts, the new work contract is end-dated one minute before the next soonest work contract.
Submitted and processed forms update and reactivate the rehired employee’s record in the People feature.
