After you define job factors, you can begin recording job factor scores for your organization's jobs in the Job Factor Score subtab. Dayforce takes the score for each job factor, multiplies it by the factor's weight, and adds all of these results to get a job's overall score.
A job's overall score determines which job grade it belongs to, which Dayforce then uses to assign to a pay grade.
To add a job factor score:
- Go to Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments.
- Click the Pay Grades tab and then click the Job Factor Score subtab.
- Click Add.
- Do one of the following:
- Select a job assignment in the Job Assignment drop-down list and leave the Job drop-down list cleared. The job factor score applies only to the selected job assignment, which is a specific instance of a job that is tied to a department. For example, by selecting the Produce Clerk job assignment, you can record job factor scores for that job assignment, which is the clerk job in the produce department, specifically.
- Select a job in the Job drop-down list and leave the Job Assignment drop-down list cleared. The job factor score applies to any job assignment with the selected job that doesn’t already have job factor scores defined for it. For example, by selecting the Supervisor job, you can record job factor scores for job assignments with the Supervisor job, such as the Line Supervisor, Plant Supervisor, and so on.
- Note: If a specific job assignment has job factor scores defined, it overrides the scores recorded for just a job. Continuing the example, if you record scores for the Plant Supervisor job assignment, any scores recorded for just the Supervisor job aren't applied to the Plant Supervisor, only other job assignments with the Supervisor job.
- Enter the selected job assignment or job's score for each relevant job factor.
- Dayforce shows a column for each job factor you set up.
- For example, if you selected Supervisor in the Job drop-down list, you can enter a score in the Accountability field to record the supervisor job's accountability score.
- When you’re finished, you should have a list of scores for each job factor for all of the jobs in your organization that you want assigned to a pay grade, as well as any job assignments you want to score specifically.
- Click Save.
