Record Job Assignment and Compensation Changes

To record a job assignment and compensation change, you can submit a Job Assignment and Compensation Change form.

Before You Begin: For descriptions of specific fields in the form, see List of Job Assignment and Compensation Change Form Settings.

To submit a Job Assignment and Compensation Change form:

  1. Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Forms.
  2. Select the Job Assignment and Compensation Change form. Any fields that are already recorded in Dayforce are automatically populated.
  3. Select one of the effective date options to define when the updates in the form become effective:
    • Today: (Default selection) Effective as of the day the form is submitted.
    • Tomorrow: Effective as of the day after the form is submitted.
    • As of: Enter the date that you want the change to be effective.
  4. Update settings in the following sections as needed:
    • Work Assignment: The details of the employee's primary work assignment.
    • Manager Assignment: The employee's direct manager.
    • Pay and Rates: The details of the employee's employment status record.
  5. In the Compensation Changes section, you can view graphical illustrations of the employee's compensation timeline, or a peer comparison of their compensation. To move between graphs, click the tab displaying the graph name.
  6. To update the employee's compensation, select the change type:
    • Change Total: Select an option in the Reason drop-down list, enter the new salary or base rate in the Amount field.
    • Change by Increment: Click Add and select an option in the Reason drop-down list. Select $ Amount or % Amount in the Change Type drop-down list and enter the increase amount in the Change Value field.
  7. In the Onboarding section, select an option in the Onboarding Policy drop-down list.
  8. Click Submit.
