After you set mapping values for a rule in HR Admin > Employee Data Mapping Rules, you need to set values that will make employees eligible for the rule. Each rule shows Qualifiers under it by default. When you select Qualifiers, you can add specific values to the list that employees must qualify for to be eligible for the rule. In this example, the qualifier checks for the employee's primary location:
Note: The list of available qualifier options is predefined. See Mapping Qualifier List.
If you add multiple qualifiers for different values, employees must have each value to be eligible for the rule. In this case, Dayforce considers each qualifier as an AND condition. For example, if a mapping rule has a Job qualifier looking for the Cashier job, and a Pay Class qualifier looking for the PT pay class, an employee must be assigned the Cashier job and the PT pay class to be eligible for the rule.
When you configure qualifiers with multiple options for the same qualifier value, Dayforce considers each as an OR condition. For example, if a mapping rule has two Job qualifiers, one for the Receiving job and one for the Associate job, when the mapping rule triggers, it applies to employees who work either of these jobs.
You can also configure qualifiers to have a combination of AND and OR conditions. For example, a mapping rule has two Job qualifiers, one for the Merchandiser job and one for the Specialist job. It also has a Pay Class qualifier for the PT pay class. When the mapping rule triggers, it applies to employees who work either the Merchandiser job or the Specialist job and who have the PT pay class.
