This background job generates pay group calendars for past pay periods.
For example, say that you created pay periods for the 2013 calendar year (January to December), but no pay periods exist prior to the beginning of 2013. If the benefits year runs from October to September, there will be no pay periods for October to December of 2012. The pay periods must exist for Dayforce to correctly calculate benefits for all pay periods for the full benefits year. By running the Prior Pay Group Calendar Generator background job, you can have Dayforce generate the required past pay periods.
