Prerequisites for Leave Projection

Before you can set up leave projection functionality in Dayforce, you need to assign role feature and role authorization access in System AdminRoles, and configure a client property in System Admin > Client Properties:

Role Description
Administrator

An administrator requires role feature access to some Pay Setup sub-features to configure leave projection.

Role feature access:  

  • Pay SetupPay Setup > Balances > Balance Definition
  • Pay SetupPay SetupEntitlements > Entitlement Definitions
  • Pay SetupPay SetupEntitlements > Policies
  • Pay SetupPay SetupPay Code
Manager

A manager requires role feature access to People to assign entitlement policies and balances to employees, and role authorization access to employee balance information.

Note: If necessary, you can configure Dayforce so that these tasks are the responsibility of an administrator.

Role feature access:  

  • Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Employment > Employment Settings > Employment Status
  • Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Work > Balances > Actual Balances
  • Application Container > People > Employee Profile > Work > Balances > Eligible Balances

Role authorization access: Employee Balance Information

Employee

Employees require role feature access to features where they can submit time away and review their balances.

Role feature access: Work > Time Away List

Client Property

To enable leave projection functionality in Dayforce, you need to configure a client property in System Admin > Client Properties.

In the Properties tab in the General section, select the Enable Leave Projection checkbox. See General.
