In Plan Setup > , you can define the operating hours of your organization’s locations for specific days of the week, throughout the year. Operating hours are initially defined as an operating hour pattern that describes when locations are open during each day of the week, exceptions to this pattern, when the pattern is applied, and to what locations it’s applied.
For example, a pattern can define that:
- Locations are open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Locations are closed on every December 25, January 1, and July 4.
- Locations have extended hours, from 9:00 AM to midnight, on July 3, 2011.
- The operating hours are applied to the entire Western region, effective January 1, 2011, and don’t expire.
Dayforce uses a location’s operating hours with its service pattern when calculating the labor demand for a location. See Service Patterns.
Schedules also shows operating hours to help you create schedules for your location. Dayforce visually marks the Bar View with the location’s opening and closing times, using green lines. In the screenshot below, the location operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM:
