This background job controls the Pending Shift Request Alert. When run, this background job checks for pending unfilled shift bids. If there are pending unfilled shift bids, the background job sends a notification to the employees’ managers.
The notification sums up the number of pending bids for the scheduling period (that is, the scheduling week). For example, Store 320 has two unfilled shifts that are available: one on June 24 and one on June 26. Employees have submitted bids for both shifts. When the Store 320 manager receives the Pending Shift Request notification, it informs the manager that the week of June 22 has a total of two bids:
Before You Begin: To receive this alert, you must:
- Enable shift bidding. Go to System Admin > Roles and, in the Features tab, enable the Schedules > Shift Bidding role feature.
- Enable the Pending Shift Request notification in System Admin > System Notifications. See Pending Shift Request.
