When configuring payroll policies in Dayforce, rules are added and configured first before you set up qualifiers for these rules.
Important: Make sure you're familiar with the general concepts about payroll policies, which are available in Payroll Policies.
The rules and qualifiers in payroll policies determine how employee net income is calculated from gross pay and which deductions are applied, whether pre-tax or post-tax. The rules and qualifiers also specify what time-driven earnings are added to employee earnings, and when generated earnings are calculated and paid.
The following topics describe the functionality of each rule and their settings, with common configurations and examples.
