Payroll Import

Before You Begin: In addition to the following role features, users who need to import quick entry and pay adjustment records require access to the imports, which is assigned in the Payroll Import Access tab of System Admin > User. See User Account Settings.

Enables the Payroll Import feature, where users can import external quick entry and pay adjustment records and manually approve and process them.

The Payroll Import role feature contains the following subfeatures:

  • Overview: Enables the Overview tab of the Payroll Import, where users can import external quick entry and pay adjustment records. The application lists records as imported sets (that is, separated collections of records, based on a single imported file) and displays details of the set, including the import type, status, and upload date. You can filter the imported records, and clicking an import set allows you to view the associated records in either the Quick Entries tab or Payroll Elections tab, depending on your selection.
  • Note: You must enable role access for the Quick Entries or the Payroll Elections tabs to view records when selecting an import set in the Overview screen.
  • Payroll Import - Master User: If this option is selected, the role isn’t subject to group code filtering but is subject to earnings and deduction code security that is applicable to other users in the other screens in Payroll Import.
  • Payroll Elections: Enables the Payroll Elections tab, where users can view imported pay adjustment records and perform a number of actions, including adding, editing, approving, and publishing your pay adjustments.
    • Publish Import Payroll Elections: Enables the Publish button in the toolstrip of the Payroll Elections tab, granting users the ability to publish their approved pay adjustment records.
  • Quick Entries: Enables the Quick Entries tab, where users can view imported quick entry records and perform a number of actions, including adding, editing, approving, and publishing your quick entries.
    • Manage Terminated Employees: Adds the Terminated button to the toolstrip of the Quick Entries tab, granting users the ability to add terminated employees whose last pay date is prior to the current pay period.
    • Publish Import Quick Entries: Enables the Publish button in the toolstrip of the Quick Entries tab, granting users the ability to publish their approved quick entry records.
