Payroll Election Audits

To view the audit trail in an employee's payroll-election record, in the employee profile, click Audit in the sidebar. You can narrow the information by using the Action, Action Performed By, Date, and Section filters. The following screenshot illustrates a change to the scheduled payment of an overtime adjustment:

To view the audits, expand the audit entry. Each entry displays the name of the user who made the change and the date and time that the user made the change. You can also click the user's name to open their employee card. The application lists the updated fields and old values, new values, and removals, as applicable. In the Section column, you can filter by the following elections:

  • Payroll Election > Earnings
  • Payroll Election > Earnings Limit
  • Payroll Election > Earnings Parameters
  • Payroll Election > Earnings Payee
  • Payroll Election > Deduction
  • Payroll Election > Deduction Limit
  • Payroll Election > Deduction Parameters
  • Payroll Election > Deduction Payee

Depending on the earning or deduction code that you select in the Payroll > Payroll Elections screen, you can specify values in the Parameters section, the Limits subsection in the Parameters section, or the Payee section. If you add, delete, or change a limit, parameter, or payee value, the application categorizes the change as one of the previously listed sections and displays the change as an individual entry in the Audit screen. For example, if you select the Parking deduction code and enter an amount of 100 in the Parameters section, the resulting election displays as Payroll Election > Deduction Parameters in the Section column of the Audit screen.

The Record column displays the election name and the effective dates so that you know at a high level which election you are viewing before you expand the record. The election name is the code that you selected in the General Details section in the Payroll > Payroll Elections screen, for example, OT Adjustment.
