The Payroll Properties tab has the following sections:
- Properties
- Net Pay Setup
- Payroll Warnings
- Settings for ConnectedPay
- Time Reconciliation
- On-Demand Pay
Task information for configuring pay group payroll properties is available in Configure Pay Group Payroll Properties.

| Payroll Time Data Display Limit | (US Only) Enter a number to limit the number of records that are shown in the Time Data tab of Payroll, which is helpful for large pay groups in which administrators generally filter the data after the tab is loaded. |
| Pay Entry Future Pay Periods By Months | Field to set a number of future pay periods in which an administrator can enter checks and quick entries so they can be allocated properly if necessary (for ROEs, for example). If this is configured, the application populates the PPN drop-down list for quick entries and check entries with corresponding choices for future pay periods. |

| Fixed Pay Day 1 | Shown if you selected Pay By Fixed Day in Pay Date Type. Select a number (1 through 31) from the drop-down list. |

| Pay Date Offset (Month) | Shown if you selected Pay By Fixed Day in Pay Date Type. Enter a number of weeks to offset the pay date. |
| Adjust Type for Holiday |
The adjustment type for when a pay date falls on a holiday:
|
| Commit By Offset | Field to enter the number of offset days before the impound date that payroll must be committed. |
| Commit By Time | Field to enter the time before which payroll must be committed on the commit-by date. |
| Impound By Offset | Field to set the number of days before a pay date Dayforce impounds payroll funds. |
| Data Gate Offset from Commit Date (hours) | Field to set the number of hours before a commit date/time that Dayforce closes the data gate to workflows that might impact the pay run. If the data gate is closed, workflows aren’t accepted or processed. |
| Data Gate Duration from Offset (hours) |
Field to set the number of hours after a commit date/time that Dayforce reopens the data gate to workflows that might impact the pay run. |
| Enable Commit From Payroll |
This checkbox, when selected, configures the application to pay employees in the pay group through the Dayforce Payroll feature, committing payroll from Payroll. When cleared, this configures the pay group not to use the Payroll feature. This checkbox is shown only if your organization is configured to use the Dayforce Payroll feature. It isn’t shown if your organization is WFM-only. You can select this checkbox to migrate an existing WFM-only pay group to use the Payroll feature. Important: If you do select this for a WFM-only pay group, when payroll commit from Payroll begins (set with the Payroll Commit Start Date), the pay group can no longer be exported through the Payroll Export interface used by WFM to export pay data to an external payroll provider. |
| Payroll Commit Start Date |
Field to set the date when the pay group starts being paid through the Payroll feature if you selected the Enable Commit From Payroll checkbox. Important: If you set a date here for a pay group with the Enable Commit From Payroll option selected, the pay group can no longer be exported through the Payroll Export interface after the date specified. |
| Holiday Group | Drop-down list to select the holiday group to assign to the pay group, which defines which holidays impact the pay group's pay dates. |
| Include GL Accrual |
Select this checkbox to configure calculation and export of accruals or estimated expenses to the general ledger for the pay group. |
| Disable Multi Jurisdiction Taxation |
(Service Users Only) Select this checkbox to disable multi-jurisdiction taxation. US and Mexico only. Important: Selecting this is strongly discouraged. For questions, speak with your Dayforce representative. |
| Respect Employee Level MultiJ | (Service Users Only) Shows only if the Disable Multi Jurisdiction Taxation checkbox is selected. |
| Suppress Tax Locator Messages If No Taxes Located |
Prevents Dayforce from showing the tax locator message when zero new taxes are added after making an employee address change. |
| Do not Disburse or Print to Back Office | Select this checkbox to set up Dayforce to save payroll data for informational purposes only and not to send any wage or tax data to the Back Office for processing. |
| Number of Loaded Periods | (Canada Only) Enter the number of loaded pay runs to include when a Canadian legal entity is implemented or converted mid-year from a legacy product or third-party payroll vendor. The YTD values for Earnings / Deductions / Taxes are loaded into a single pay run. The Number of Loaded Periods describes how many pay periods the YTD values represent, which information is used in the generation of the CPP/QPP Discrepancy Report to calculate the amount of Exemption already applied to employees to determine if the amounts of taxes paid are correct. If the pay group goes live on January 1, then no YTD amounts are loaded for the pay group. |
| Print Statement Localization Policy |
Drop-down list that sets how the application localizes print statements, with the following options:
|
| Respect Employee Level MultiJ | Displays only if the Disable Multi Jurisdiction Taxation checkbox is selected. |
| Print Statement Localization Policy |
Required. Select one of the available options from this drop-down:
Select Print based on Employee culture option to print employee earning statements in the employee's preferred language, or select Print based on Client Default culture to override the employee's preferred language and print statements in the client's default culture. |
| Pay through Primary Legal Entity Only |
Consider the following example, where an employee works in the Bayview location in New York for the entire year, except for two shifts in the Burden location in New Jersey, filling in on an emergency basis for another manager. Because the employee’s company operates under multiple legal entities, the two shifts in the Burden location were worked in another legal entity from the employee’s primary one; as a result, the application pays the employee under two different legal entities, generates two W2 forms (one for the work paid under each legal entity) and taxes the employee for both New York and New Jersey state taxes. With the Pay through Primary Legal Entity Only checkbox selected, the employee is only paid and taxed under their primary legal entity. In the example above, when the employee is paid under their primary legal entity the application does not calculate and apply any New Jersey state taxes, because the primary legal entity does not operate in New Jersey, and only generates one W2 tax form for the employee. |
| Hours Display Precision |
Enter the number of decimal places (2, 3, or 4) for hours on earning statements, the Payroll Register Report, and all of the tabs in Payroll. This setting affects only how hours are included in the report. It doesn’t affect how payroll data is stored in Dayforce. Increasing the number of decimal places might decrease the accuracy of the listed earnings for employees if their hours were rounded off. In such cases, the number of hours multiplied by the pay rate might not equal the listed dollar amount of their earnings. |
| Adjust WFM hours to balance with amount and rate | Select this checkbox to adjust WFM hours balances to match the calculated pay amount when the minutes that are counted toward the pay exceed the WFM hours decimal that is shown on employees' earning statements. |
| Award Entitlement in Payroll Processing |
Select this checkbox as part of the configuration to award entitlement accruals based on payroll earnings. |
| Close WFM Time Data On Payroll Lock | Select this checkbox to apply data gate logic on locked pay runs. When you select this checkbox, the application shows the Close WFM button in Payroll, which payroll administrators can use to delay workflows that can impact employees in the pay run. |
| Update Pay Entry Rates on Pay Run Recalc |
Select this checkbox to update imported pay entries that contain any rate code rates that were changed after a pay entry import, but before the pay run was committed. If you clear the checkbox, Dayforce applies the rate code rate that was effective at the time of the import. Important: This functionality works only when you use the Pay Entry Import. |
| Minutes Delay for Online Report Generation After Commit | Enter the number of minutes for Dayforce to delay the generation of online reports after a pay run is committed. |
| Minutes Delay for GL Export Generation After Commit | Enter the number of minutes for Dayforce to delay the generation of the GL Export file after a pay run is committed. |
| Get Schedule Cost From WFM for Forecast Pay |
Select this checkbox as part of the configuration to enable the application to pay employees based on schedule cost data from WFM. This setting is only available to users who log in to the application using a Service User role. See Configure Schedule Forecast Pay. |
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| ConnectedPay Enabled | Configures the pay group to useConnectedPay if the organization is already configured as an international ConnectedPay operation location. Works in conjunction with the Allow Future Dated Import option for the import of future-dated pay data using the Pay Run History Import file. |
| Allow Future Dated Import | Payroll administrators and other authorized users can import data for future-dated pay runs. When this checkbox is cleared, the import fails if the file contains future-dated data. |
| Enable Email Alert for Import/Approve/Reject Payruns | Sends email notification messages to specified recipients when an imported ConnectedPay pay run is approved, rejected, or under review. The email notification contains the client ID, client name, pay group name, pay group description, pay group reference code, pay period, pay period suffix, pay period start and end dates, and pay date. |
| Email addresses for Import/Approve/Reject Payruns – Use a comma to separate each one | Adds one or more email addresses—separated by commas—of recipients who you want to receive notification messages when an imported ConnectedPay pay run is approved, rejected, or under review. |
| Enable Alert for Payroll Lock/Unlock |
(Optional) Sends notifications to your payroll partners when you lock or unlock your quick entries:
If you select one of these options, payroll partners will receive a notification indicating that the quick entries are ready to be accessed through an API call. Select No to prevent the sending of notifications. |
| Email Addresses for Payroll Lock/Unlock - Use a comma to separate each one | Adds the email addresses of recipients to receive notifications when you lock or unlock quick entries. |

| Payroll Key | (System Admin users only) Adds string values to provide instructions to set specific field outputs in Dayforce Link exports. This field uses a structured string to set flags and provide instructions to set specific field outputs. For details about how you can configure this field, see the country-specific export output guide or the ICP technical output guide. |
| Offset Pay Period Days | Offsets your pay period by the number of days and helps align your pay period more accurately so that your payroll provider can distinguish payroll periods and calculation periods and avoid misinterpreting pay data. |
| Including Saturday & Sunday pay dates |
Adds the option for you to select any day of the week, including the weekend, as a pay date for the selected pay group. |
| Display ICP Pay Slips As Of |
(Optional) Sets a date when the payroll partner is supplying locally compliant earning statements. Starting on the selected date, the application suppresses the showing of HTML earning statements that Dayforce generates so that only the earning statements that payroll partners upload to Dayforce are available in Self-Service and in an employee's profile in People. If you select a date, earning statements that payroll partners import in Document Management are available for pay runs with pay dates on or after the date that you specify in this field. By default, this field is empty, and if you leave it empty, Dayforce continues to show HTML earning statements. |
| Payroll Partner | (Service roles only) Selects the payroll partner that processes the payroll of the pay group. This option is available only if you previously selected ConnectedPay Enabled. |
| Automatically Approve Off-Cycle Types |
(Optional) Specifies a specific off-cycle type that does not require review in Dayforce and automatically marks it as approved after the Global Pay Run Import (GPRI) is loaded. You can choose one or both of the following options:

| Salaried Earnings Variation From Last Period (%) | Enter a value to view the difference in earnings compared to the previous pay period. If the salaried earnings of the previous pay period exceed the percentage that you entered, the application shows a warning message in the Problems panel. |
| Total Net Pay Variation (%) | Enter a value to view the variation of the net pay of a pay period compared to the previous pay period. If the net pay of the previous pay period exceeds the percentage that you entered, the application shows a warning message in the Problems panel. |
