Pay Grade Configuration

You can use pay grades to determine if employees are being paid appropriately. For example, if a pay grade defined for tellers ranges from $8 to $14 an hour, managers know that the employees working as tellers should be earning a pay rate in this range.

Dayforce can handle pay grade functionality in one of two ways: through pay grades, job grades, and job factor functionality (described in this section), or through job factor point functionality (described in Job Factor Point Configuration). You can use only one of these methods. To configure pay grades and assign them directly to jobs as described in this section, make sure that the Pay Grade - Use Job Factor Point System client property is cleared in the Properties tab in System Admin > Client Properties.

In the Pay Grades tab of Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments, you can create your organization's pay grades. Pay grades are ranges of pay that employees earn for certain job assignments. After you create a pay grade, you can assign it to jobs in the Jobs and Job Assignments tab and it applies to all of the job assignments that are under those jobs.

The Pay Grades tab shows all of your organization's pay grades. When you select a pay grade or add a new pay grade, Dayforce expands its details, which are divided into the General, Rates, and Org Differentials subtabs.
