Overview of SSP Configuration for Payroll

Configuring the application to generate SSP in the Payroll module involves the following:

  • Setting up the sick pay code that the application uses to calculate SSP. This is the reason code that employees select when they request TAFW. You configure pay codes in Pay Set-up > Pay Code. Here, you must configure the code to have the Is Absence checkbox selected. See Pay Codes.
  • Creating allowance codes for paying the SSP amounts that are generated by the Payroll module. See UK Statutory Allowances.
  • Adding the Apply UK Sick Pay rule to employee payroll policies. See Overview of SSP Configuration for Payroll.
  • Defining the stop payment method for allowances and deductions that you want the application to stop when an employee is receiving SSP. The stop payment method is only applicable when SSP is generated in the Payroll module, and not for SSP generated via the WFM module. See UK Stop Payment Method.
