Dayforce uses a third-party geocoding tool to ensure the accuracy of the addresses you've entered. The tool generates a set of coordinates when it validates the address. These coordinates are then used to determine the appropriate tax jurisdiction for payroll calculations. When needed, you can override the validated coordinates for site-level addresses in Org Setup > Organization in the Organization tab.
Note: The override coordinates feature should only be used for US states with local government taxes.
Before You Begin:
- Make sure that you're familiar with the general concepts in Configure Organizational Groups and Subgroups
- Configure the site addresses for your organization.
Role feature access: Org Setup > Org Setup > Organization > Organization
To add override coordinates for a legal entity's location address:
- Go to Org Setup > Organization.
- In the Organization tab, expand the site address that you want to update.
- Select the Geo Points Override checkbox.
- Enter the override coordinates in Latitude and Longitude. The accepted range of values in Latitude is between +90 and-90. The accepted range of values in Longitude is between +180 and -180.
- Important: Dayforce isn’t responsible for the accuracy of the override coordinates you enter.
- Click Save.
To ensure that the correct tax jurisdiction is used in the payroll calculations, Dayforce clears the override coordinates when you change any of the following fields in the location address: Country Code, State/Province, Address, Address Line 2, County, City, and Zip/Postal Code.
