Otherwise Working Day Qualifier

Before You Begin: This qualifier is available only for organizations in Australia and New Zealand.

The Otherwise Working Day Qualifier restricts entitlements to run only on dates that are determined to be otherwise working days (OWD). An otherwise working day is a day that an employee would typically be scheduled to work if it wasn’t a public holiday or leave day. See Calculation for the Otherwise Working Day.

Dayforce determines otherwise working days for employees using the Calculate Otherwise Work Day Dates background job. The background job evaluates both dates in the past and in the future to determine OWD:

  • For historical records, Dayforce matches the processed date to an exact date.
  • For future records (that is, those ahead of an employee’s latest calculated week start date), Dayforce uses the most recent week.

See Calculate Otherwise Work Day Dates.
