The Offline Clock notification lets users know if any time entry clocks at their location are offline. Clocks are considered offline when they aren’t communicating with Dayforce; network or power outages can cause a clock to go offline.
Users receive this notification if:
- Their specific user account is subscribed to the notification in the Subscriptions tab of System Admin > System Notifications. User accounts with this subscription receive the notification for offline clocks at all locations. See Notification Subscriptions.
- Their user role is subscribed to the notification in the Subscriptions tab of System Admin > System Notifications. Dayforce checks each user assigned to that role and if they are assigned any locations in System Admin > User, it only sends them the notification for offline clocks belonging to one of those locations or to locations under them in the organizational hierarchy (so a user assigned a region would receive notifications from any location in their region). User accounts assigned a subscribed user role but no locations in System Admin > User are sent the notification for offline clocks at all locations. See Configure Notification Subscriptions by User Role.
The notification displays the Ethernet MAC Address (used to identify devices on a network) and the description of the offline clocks as defined in Site Setup > Clock Devices.
Use the Offline Threshold client property in the General section of the Properties tab in System Admin > Client Properties to configure the number of minutes that a clock must be offline for before Dayforce sends the Offline Clock notification. For example, enter 25 and Dayforce sends the notification once a clock is offline for at least 25 minutes. This parameter is set to 30 minutes by default.
