Nth Scheduled Day Qualifier

Dayforce Implementation Guide

Nth Scheduled Day Qualifier

The Nth Scheduled day Qualifier restricts rules to run only on specified scheduled days. For example, by associating this qualifier with a rule that pays out a premium, you could configure Dayforce to pay employees the premium only on the sixth scheduled day of every week.

When configured, the qualifier checks each day of the week, either starting from the start of the week or on a specified day of the week, and counts the number of scheduled days. If it reaches the number of scheduled days specified, such as on either the sixth scheduled day in the example above, it qualifies the associated rule.

The qualifier’s settings control when during the week it starts counting scheduled days and the minimum and maximum number of scheduled days it checks for.

Nth Scheduled Day Qualifier settings
Setting Description
Day of week to count from The day of the week that the qualifier uses to start counting scheduled days from.
Use pay group first day of week Dayforce ignores the Day of week to count from setting and instead starts counting from the employee’s pay group’s first day of the week, configured in the Start of Week field in Pay Setup > Pay Group.
Minimum scheduled days

The minimum number of scheduled days required to qualify the associated rule. For example, if an employee must work three scheduled days, enter 3.

If there is also a number in the Maximum scheduled days field, Dayforce qualifies employees who have worked at least the minimum number of days, but haven’t exceeded the maximum. For example, with 3 as the minimum and 6 as the maximum, an employee who has worked four scheduled shifts would qualify, but an employee who had worked only two wouldn’t.

To configure the qualifier so that an employee must have a specific number of scheduled days, rather than a range, enter the same number in both the Minimum scheduled days and Maximum scheduled days fields.

Maximum scheduled days

The maximum number of days an employee can be scheduled and still qualify for the associated rule. For example, enter 6 to apply the rule to employees who have worked only six scheduled days or fewer.

If there is also a number in the Minimum scheduled days field, Dayforce qualifies employees who have worked at least the minimum number of days, but haven’t exceeded the maximum. For example, with 3 as the minimum and 6 as the maximum, an employee who has worked five scheduled shifts would qualify, but an employee who had worked seven wouldn’t.

To configure the qualifier so that an employee must have a specific number of scheduled days, rather than a range, enter the same number in both the Minimum scheduled days and Maximum scheduled days fields.
