Notice Period Validation Rule

The Notice Period Validation Rule restricts users from submitting a time away request for certain leave types during the notice period. The notice period is determined by the date specified in the Termination Notice Date field in the employee profile in People, in the Employment > Employment Settings section in the Key Information tab.

Additionally, there are some exceptions where the rule doesn’t restrict time away requests. Exceptions include:

  • The time away request is for past dates before the notice period.
  • The employee resigns after the time away request has already been applied and approved.
  • The manager applies for time away on behalf of the employee during the notice period.
  • If the time away request has been submitted but not approved, the manager can choose whether to approve or reject it.
