Max meal/break allocations control when rest periods must occur during an employee’s shift, based on the shift’s start time. For example, you can configure Dayforce so that employees must have a meal within the first five hours of their shift.
To configure the max meal/break allocation for the example above:
- In the Max Meal/Break Allocation section, click Add.
- In the Type drop-down list, select a rest period type. For this example, select Meal.
- In the Maximum Time Before field, enter the duration of time in which an employee must take their rest period, in minutes. This duration of time begins once the employee’s shift begins. For this example, enter 300.
- Click Save.
If the employee’s schedule rule policy contains an instance of the Enforce Meal/Break Policy Rule, Dayforce displays a problem when employees aren't scheduled a meal within the first five hours of their shift:
