After you create an attendance rule policy and set it up with attendance rules, you can associate it with one or more attendance policies.
Note that when you link an attendance rule policy with an attendance policy, Dayforce processes both your attendance policy and attendance rule policy configuration. Because of this behavior, you might want to add a new attendance policy that’s specifically tied to your attendance rule policy to avoid altering the configuration of an existing attendance policy. This is useful if you want the attendance rule policy to be the main driver of your attendance tracking functionality.
Alternatively, you can associate an attendance rule policy with an existing attendance policy to leverage the configuration of both policies.
Note: Remember, if both policies are configured, Dayforce first evaluates your attendance policy configuration and then your attendance rule policy configuration, in sequence.

To link an attendance rule policy with an attendance policy:
- Go to Pay Setup > Attendance and click the Attendance Policy tab.
- Select an attendance policy in the sidebar.
- In the General section, in the Attendance Rule Policy drop-down list, select a policy.
- Click Save.
