Generate California Pay Data Reports

After you configure a California pay data template in HR Admin > Compliance Reporting > EEO, you can generate the California pay data report in the Establishments tab of the template. The file generated by Dayforce will generally conform to the file specifications outlined by the Civil Rights Department (CRD). You can review and modify the data in the report and can then upload the file directly to the CRD's pay data portal or you can use the data that the Dayforce CSV report captures to manually complete the pay report through the CRD's pay data portal. The portal can be found here: https://pdr.calcivilrights.ca.gov/.

Note that customers are responsible for reviewing and making any required changes to the pay data report for accuracy prior to filing. Customers will need to make certain decisions when completing the pay data report and might need to supply additional information. For instance, customers might have to decide how to report certain employee hours, add proxy hours, or decide how to properly categorize an employee.

To generate the California pay data report:

  1. Go to HR Admin > Compliance Reporting > EEO and select a California pay data template.
  2. Click the Establishments tab.
  3. Click Export > California Pay Data Report.

Dayforce checks that the address information and compliance properties defined for each establishment are present. If information is missing, Dayforce displays a warning dialog box. In this case, click Yes to continue generating the file with the missing data, or No to cancel.

The Problems panel displays a list of warnings for missing information:

Establishments warning message.

Note: You can't update this information in the Establishments tab. You can only update it in Org Setup. See Configure Establishment Details.

The file name for the report has the following format: CAUploadFileyyyyCCCCCCC:

  • yyyy is the survey year (for example, 2020).
  • CCCCCCC is the 7-digit number from the Company Number/User ID field in the General tab of the template.
