EEO filing reports require ethnicity and gender data from the employee's profile. The following is a description of how this information is recorded in Dayforce.
Ethnicity
You can view and manage ethnicity data in the Ethnicity section of the Personal > Confidential Information screen in People. Ethnicity records in Dayforce can be based on self-identification by the employee or sight-identification by the employer. Self-identification is the method preferred by the EEOC. For more information, including the methods in which ethnicity can be recorded in Dayforce (such as forms), see Ethnicity (US).
Gender
Employee gender for EEO reports is derived by the report from the Gender section in the Personal > Confidential Information screen of People. Dayforce first uses the option selected in the Assigned Sex field of the employee’s federal gender record. If Male or Female is selected, they are reported as such in the report. If an employee doesn't have an option selected in the Assigned Sex field, but they have a value in the Assigned Sex field of their state-level gender record, that value is reported. If the assigned sex option in the state-level gender record is non-binary, Dayforce uses the value in the Gender Identity field of the state-level gender record, as long as it is binary. If it isn’t binary, Dayforce lists the employee in the Employees with Exceptions Report since EEO reports can only accept binary gender values.
