Record a Tax File Number (TFN) in the Identification section of the Personal > Confidential Information screen of People. Do this by creating a record with TFN selected in the Identification Type column.
A TFN is a unique identifier issued by the Australian Taxation Office to tax-paying individuals and businesses.
During payroll processing, Dayforce generates a warning message to indicate when a TFN isn’t recorded. However, if this scenario occurs, you can still continue with the payroll commit, for example, to support the case where a new employee has not yet provided their TFN.
To record a TFN number in the employee's record:
- Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Personal > Confidential Information.
- In the Identification section, click Add.
- In the Identification Type drop-down list, select TFN.
- In the Issuing Country drop-down list, select Australia.
- (Optional) Enter a place of issue.
- In the Effective Date field, define the date at which the TFN number is usable in Dayforce.
- In the Issue Date field, enter the date that the TFN was issued.
- In the Identification Number field, enter an identification number and click save.
- (Optional) To upload a scan of the TFN in the Supporting Documents column:
- Click Add.
- In the Upload Files dialog box that opens, click Browse for file(s) and select a file. You can also drag and drop files into the file window.
- Click Upload.
- Click Save.
