You can configure an end date for an entitlement’s balance period so that Dayforce pays out or transfers the remaining balance to the employee. This functionality is useful in cases where an employee is changing entitlement policy assignments and you need to pay out their remaining balance before they switch to the new policy. You can also use this functionality in cases where you want to transfer their remaining balance to their new policy, or pay out a balance after terminating an employee.
Important: As a prerequisite for this functionality, it’s recommended that the Enable Balance Period Validation client property is enabled in your Dayforce instance. This client property is located in System Admin > Client Properties in the Properties tab, in the General section. See General.
