Encryption Methods

In System Admin > Encryption, you can configure encryption methods to be used by Dayforce features such as exports and background jobs. Three encryption types are available: PGP, DES, and Triple DES. Each have different requirements, depending on which type you’re configuring. For DES or Triple DES encryption, you need to enter values in the Key and Initialization Vector fields. For PGP encryption, you need to enter a value in the PGP PKey field.

If you’re using PGP encryption, and you’re importing files, make sure that the import files use only the .csv extension, not the .pgp extension, or the files won’t load. See File Requirements.

For best results, add only one encryption method per encryption key.

Important: DES and Triple DES are provided for legacy integrations with environments that aren't capable of using PGP. These encryption types shouldn’t be used for new integrations, because these encryption algorithms are no longer considered secure. Use PGP encryption whenever possible.
