Employee Status Qualifier

You can use the Employee Status Qualifier to restrict rules based on factors such as an employee’s hire date, age, and pay type. For example, you could use this qualifier so that a rule applies only to employees who are paid hourly and have an active employment status.

Employee Status Qualifier settings
Setting Description
Hire date is on or after Enter a date or click the calendar icon and select a date. The associated rule applies only to employees hired on or after this date.
Hire date is on or before Enter a date or click the calendar icon and select a date. The associated rule applies only to employees hired on or before this date.
Birth date is on or after Enter a date or click the calendar icon and select a date. The associated rule applies only to employees born on or after this date.
Birth date is on or before Enter a date or click the calendar icon and select a date. The associated rule applies only to employees born on or before this date.
Include pay classes

Select which pay classes are included or excluded from the rule. See Pay Class Setup.

Select which departments and jobs are included or excluded from the rule.
Primary job assignments only Select this checkbox and Dayforce only examines the employee’s primary work assignment to determine if it contains the specified jobs or departments. When cleared, the employee qualifies if any of their work assignments contain the specified jobs or departments.
Calendar days since hire date Enter a number of days. With the Is within calendar days since hire date checkbox selected, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees whose hire date is within this number of days. When cleared, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees with at least this number of days since their hire date.
Is within calendar days since hire date Select this checkbox and Dayforce applies the rule only to employees whose hire date is within the number of days specified in the Calendar days since hire date field. When cleared, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees with at least the number of days specified in that field since their hire date.
Calendar days since start date Enter a number of days. With the Is within calendar days since start date checkbox selected, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees whose start date is within this number of days. With the checkbox cleared, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees with at least this number of days since their start date.
Is within calendar days since start date Select this checkbox and Dayforce applies the rule only to employees whose start date is within the number of days specified in the Calendar days since start date field. When cleared, Dayforce applies the rule only to employees with at least the number of days specified in that field since their start date.
Calendar days since seniority date Enter a number, in days, to run the rule only for employees that have achieved the specified number of days since their seniority date.
Is within calendar days since seniority date Select this checkbox to apply the rule to employees that are within the number of calendar days specified in the Calendar days since seniority date field. Dayforce applies the rule to employees that haven't passed the specified number of calendar days since their seniority date with your organization.

Select which employee groups are included or excluded from the rule. See Employee Group Setup.
Min age

The minimum age in years that an employee must be to qualify for the associated rule. This setting includes the employee’s qualifying birthday. For example, when set to 18, the employee qualifies on their 18th birthday.

Leave blank and there’s no minimum age needed to qualify for the associated rule.

Max age

The maximum age in years that an employee must be to qualify for the associated rule. This setting excludes the employee’s disqualifying birthday. For example, when set to 20, the employee qualifies until their 21st birthday.

Leave blank and there’s no maximum age that disqualifies the associated rule.

Is student Select this checkbox and the associated rule applies only to employees classified as students.
Base rate greater or equal to Enter a number and the associated rule applies only to employees with a base rate that is greater than or equal to this value.
Base rate less or equal to Enter a number and the associated rule applies only to employees with a base rate that is less than or equal to this value.
