The Employee Date Qualifier restricts entitlements to certain employees, based on their birth date, original hire date, hire date (that is, rehire date), seniority date, start date, or the date they were assigned the entitlement policy. The qualifier can be configured so that the selected date must be on, after or before specified months.
For example, you can limit entitlements to employees who were born during the first half of the year by specifying that their birth date must be on or after January and before July.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Start Date |
The date that the qualifier’s evaluation is based on. You can qualify employees based on their birth date, original hire date, hire date (that is, the most recent date the employee was rehired by the organization), seniority date, start date, or assignment date, which is the date the employee was assigned the entitlement policy.
|
| Start On or After Month |
The number, such as 1 representing January and 12 representing December, that describes the month the employee’s date must occur during or after in order for them to receive the entitlement. Important: The value entered in this field should always be less than the value entered in the Start Before Month field. If it’s greater, the qualifier won’t trigger successfully. |
| Start On or After Day of Month |
Restricts entitlements to employees based on their birth, hire, seniority, start, or assignment date occurring either on or after a specified day of the month. With values in the Start On or After Month and Start On or After Day of Month, the date that qualifies employees is moved from the start of the specified month to the specified day of that month. For example, if qualifying based on hire dates, the qualifier can be configured to check that employees were hired on or after June 15 by specifying 15 in the Start On or After Day of Month setting and 6 in the Start On or After Month setting. If Start On or After Day of Month is left blank, the qualifier checks that employees were hired on or after the start of June. Important: The value entered in this field should always be less than the value entered in the Start Before Day of Month field, unless the Start Before Month value is greater than the Start On or After Month value. In all other cases, if it’s greater, the qualifier won’t trigger successfully. |
| Start Before Month | The number, such as 1 representing January and 12 representing December, that describes the month that the employee’s date must occur before to receive the entitlement. |
| Start Before Day of Month |
Restricts entitlements to employees based on their birth, hire, seniority, start date, or assignment date occurring before a specified day of the month. With values in the Start Before Month and Start Before Day of Month fields, the date that qualifies employees is moved from the start of the specified month to the specified day of that month. For example, if qualifying based on hire dates, the qualifier can be configured to check that employees were hired before the October 15 by specifying 15 in the Start Before Day of Month and 10 in the Start Before Month setting. If Start Before Day of Month is left blank, the qualifier checks that employees were hired before the start of October. Note: Enter 32 in the Start Before Day of Month field to qualify employees on the 31st of any month. |
| Assignment Year Range to Look Back | The number of years Dayforce looks back to determine when the employee was assigned the entitlement policy. Employees that weren’t assigned the policy within the specified number of years are disqualified. For example, enter 2 in this field and employees who weren’t assigned the policy within the last two years are disqualified. |
