Employee Data Mapping

Some organizations might want to use mapping rules that assign additional values to qualifying employees when there is an update to their profile. These rules can keep employee profiles up to date when specific changes are made.

For example, you update an employee's work assignment in People to a new location that requires a different pay policy and entitlement policy than what the employee is currently assigned. Instead of having to manually update these policies in the employee's record, a mapping rule can assign them based on what is required for the employee's new location.

Mapping rules can be triggered to run when you manually update settings in the following areas of People:

  • Personal > Contact Information
  • Personal > Confidential Information
  • The Employment Status tab in the Employment > Employment Settings screen
  • Leave Management
  • Work > Work Assignments
  • Work > Volunteer List

When you make updates in these areas and click Save, a dialog box opens where you can review and, depending on your access, edit or cancel the changes suggested by the mapping rules. If your role doesn't have any version of the dialog box enabled, the mapping changes are automatically applied in the background.
