Employee Count Overview

The Employee Count column of the Establishments tab provides a count of employees for each establishment. These are employees who have an active employment status in the payroll filing period defined for the template and have the required Component 1 data (ethnicity, gender, and job category).

Notes:

  • The employee is eligible for reporting if they have an active status at any time during the payroll filing period. For example, the filing period is defined as October 1 to October 15, 2022. An employee that was terminated on October 9, 2022 (mid-period) is still included in the reports because they were active for part of the payroll filing period.
  • If an establishment has employees who should be reported on, but are excluded because they’re missing Component 1 data, the establishment isn't listed in the Establishments tab. However, the eligible employees for that establishment are included in the employee exception file so that you can see which data is missing. See Review Filing Summary and Validation Messages.
  • Employees who are marked as virtual in their active primary work assignment are included in the establishment that is assigned to their work location. This is defined by the Virtual checkbox in their active primary work assignment in the Work > Work Assignments screen of People.
  • Employees who have a work location override defined for their active primary work assignment are included in the establishment that is assigned to their work location.
