After a workflow has been used at least once, you can’t edit its diagram in the Diagram tab of Workflow Administration > Workflow Designer. In this case, Dayforce prevents you from adding, removing, or changing nodes or links.
Also, after a workflow has been used at least once, you can’t edit the Reference Code field in the Properties tab of Workflow Administration > Workflow Designer.
If a workflow has been used, you can still edit any of the existing properties of its nodes or links. For example, you can edit the message subject or message body in the properties of a Notification node, so that the workflow uses the new message content going forward.
For workflows listed under the System heading in the left sidebar of Workflow Designer, you can’t edit the diagram or any node or link properties.
To edit a workflow:
- Go to Workflow Administration > Workflow Designer.
- Select a workflow.
- Click the Properties tab and update fields as needed.
- Click the Diagram tab and, if the workflow hasn’t been used yet, edit the workflow diagram as needed.
- See Using the Diagram Tab.
- Select individual nodes or links and edit their properties in the right sidebar as needed.
- Click Save.
