The Discount Hours Rule discounts overtime thresholds through pay codes and pay categories. This rule should be configured ahead of overtime rules in your ruleset hierarchy, such as the Weekly Overtime Rule, so that the discounted pay codes and categories are processed correctly.
Other pay rules also have settings that can apply discounting. The priority status of these discount settings can be offset through the use of the Discount Hours Rule. This can be achieved by placing the Discount Hours Rule below these other rules, such as the Average Hours Rule or Report In Pay Rule, in your ruleset hierarchy. However, the Discount Hours Rule must also be placed above any applicable pay rules, such as an overtime rule with discount codes.
Important: If the eligible pay codes you select are already configured as discount codes in the Assign Pay Adjustment Rule, the Insert Premium Rule, or the Holiday Rule, Dayforce will discount the codes twice.
