Development Plan Notifications

The Development Plans category contains notifications that are sent automatically based on activity in the Development Plans feature.

A site-level background job runs every 60 minutes to check for new, updated, and deleted development plans, and then determines the appropriate notifications and recipients based on the activity it finds. The background job schedules notifications first, and then sends them the next time the job runs. This means that employees and managers are always notified within two hours of any change.

For example, the background job is scheduled to run at 12 PM, 1 PM, and 2 PM, and an employee changes their plan progress at 12:15 PM. When the background job runs at 1 PM, the Development Plan Progress Change notification is scheduled. Then, when the background job runs again at 2 PM, the notification is sent.

Each notification has two versions, one for employees and one for managers. They don’t rely on subscriptions, and each is enabled by default. If needed, you can disable one or all of the notifications in the Channels tab of System Admin > System Notifications. See System Notifications Configuration.
