User roles can be grouped into four categories of Dashboards users depending on their needs and the data that they need to access.
Before You Begin: This is the first step in a five-step process for configuring Dashboards access permissions. See Configure User Access to Dashboards.
The first step in configuring user access to Dashboards is to determine which of the user roles in your Dayforce instance belong in each of the groups:
- System admin: These users are responsible for the configuration of your Dayforce instance. They can configure the access rights for other users.
- Dashboard authors: These users are responsible for creating and editing dashboards and views. They have permissions to modify dashboards and views.
- Special admin consumers: These users are usually administrators in HR, payroll, benefits, and recruiting. Their roles require access to some sensitive information in Dashboards.
- Managers: Managers need to see dashboards with information about their own reports, but some sensitive data needs to be hidden from them, such as benefits elections and payroll deductions.
