Define Payroll Mappings for Time-Driven Earnings

This task describes how to link time-driven earning definitions to the appropriate pay code and pay category with a payroll mapping.

To configure payroll mappings for a pay group:

  1. Go to Pay Setup > Pay Group and select a pay group.
  2. Payroll mappings are defined for each pay group.
  3. Click the Payroll Mapping tab.
  4. Click the add icon () and select Ruleset.
    1. Enter a name and description for the set of payroll mappings.
  5. Click the add icon () and select Rule.
    1. Enter a name and start date for the rule.
    2. In the Type drop-down list, select Earning Mapping.
    3. In the Earning drop-down list, select which earning the rule maps to.
    4. In the Pay Categories eligible drop-down list, select which pay categories mark eligible time. Only eligible time is mapped to the selected earning.
    5. Leave blank and the rule ignores pay categories when determining eligible time.
    6. In the Pay Categories not eligible drop-down list, select which pay categories mark ineligible time. Ineligible time isn’t mapped to the selected earning definition.
    7. Leave blank and the rule ignores pay categories when determining ineligible time.
    8. In the Pay Codes eligible drop-down list, select which pay codes mark eligible time. Only eligible time is mapped to the selected earning definition.
    9. Leave blank and the rule ignores pay codes when determining eligible time.
    10. In the Pay Codes not eligible drop-down list, select which pay codes mark ineligible time. Only ineligible time is mapped to the selected earning definition.
    11. Leave blank and the rule ignores pay codes when determining ineligible time.
    12. Select the Apply to retroactive pay checkbox to include retros.
    13. In the Negate Earning Hours From drop-down list, select the earning code that should be deducted from the total (for example, unpaid hours).
    14. Select the Include FLSA dates from Pay Adjustments for Earning Statement Display checkbox to include FLSA start and end dates from WFM pay adjustments in the earning statement.
    15. In order to display FLSA dates in the earning statement for WFM overtime adjustments, you need to select the Include FLSA dates from Pay Adjustments for Earning Statement Display checkbox for the following instances of the Earning Mapping rule:
      • Any instance of the rule that maps an adjustment pay code (for example, commission or bonus) to a payroll earning code.
      • Any instance of the rule that maps an overtime adjustment pay code to a payroll earning code.
    16. Select the Exclude Projects checkbox to exclude project codes from WFM to payroll. This allows you to control which earnings are impacted by default labor/projects.
  6. Click Save.

To qualify employees for rulesets or specific rules: 

  1. Select the ruleset or rule that you want to limit to specific employees within the pay group.
  2. Click the add icon () and select Qualifier.
  3. Enter a name for the qualifier.
  4. In the Type drop-down list, select Day Qualifier or Employee Qualifier to limit the mappings based on the day of the week or employee attributes.
  5. Provide values for the rest of the qualifier's parameters. See Payroll Rule Qualifiers.
  6. Click Save.
