While Dayforce will preselect default options in the enrollment process, employees can enroll in an available option other than the default. Defaults apply only until the employee accesses the enrollment and saves elections.
Dayforce assigns only previous elections as the default option when the employee was enrolled in the option as of the day prior to the new coverage effective date. In addition, Dayforce assigns only the previous election if the count of previous options in the election set doesn't exceed the remaining allowed for the set, less any auto-enrolled options. However, you can configure auto-enroll options as defaults.
Dayforce assigns only the default option or bundle if an employee is eligible.
Important: You must consider employees’ eligibility for options with dependencies when you configure defaults. If Dayforce assigns a default option and employees aren't eligible for a dependent option, they can't complete the enrollment.
