The Date Qualifier restricts when entitlements recur based on the date. For example, an entitlement that earns employees vacation hours at the start of every month can be restricted so that it recurs only from January to October, but on the first of November and December it doesn’t recur and employees don’t earn additional vacation balances.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Month Day of Month |
Together these settings define what date Dayforce uses to qualify the rule. Enter a number from 1 to 12 (representing January through to December) in the Month field and a day number (1 to 31) in the Day of Month field. The qualifier checks an entitlement’s recurrence date to see if it’s before or after the specified month and day of month. |
| Last Day of Month |
When selected, Dayforce overrides the value in the Day of Month field and automatically uses the last day of the selected month. In case of leap years, you can select this checkbox so that you don’t have to manually change the last day of the month periodically. When this checkbox is selected, it’s recommended that you set the Day of Month field with the last day of the corresponding month that’s configured in the Month field. For example, if you entered 2 in the Month field for February, enter 29 in the Day of Month field. |
| Fire Entitlement if Recurrence Occurs Before the Date Above |
When selected, if the entitlement’s recurrence date is prior to the date specified in the Month and Day of Month fields, the associated rule qualifies and runs. When cleared, the entitlement’s recurrence date must be on or after the specified date for the rule to qualify and run. Consider an example where the Month field is set to 11, the Day of Month field is set to 1, and the Fire Entitlement if Recurrence Occurs Before the Date Above checkbox is selected. This qualifier is associated with the Award Balance Amount Rule in your entitlement rule hierarchy. With this qualifier configuration, the rule runs only on the entitlement recurrences on the first of the month from January to October. On the first of November, the entitlement’s recurrence isn’t prior to November 1, so the rule doesn’t run and doesn’t award additional vacation hours. |
