In HR Admin > Marital Status, you can define the marital statuses that are available to assign to employees and dependents of employees.
To create a marital status:
- Go to HR Admin > Marital Status and click Add.
- Enter a name and description.
- Enter a value in the Reference Code field. Reference codes are used to export data to other applications. These codes must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- In the Country selection list, select one or more countries that the marital status is available for. If you leave this drop-down list cleared, it’s available regardless of country.
- This functionality is enforced in the Marital Status drop-down list, which is shown in the following areas:
- The Personal > Confidential Information screen of People.
- The Confidential Information tab in the Personal > Dependents and Beneficiaries screen of People. Depending on your configuration, the Dependents and Beneficiaries screen is also available under Benefits in the People feature.
- Self-service forms.
- The Marital Status drop-down list shows only marital statuses that are assigned the same country as the employee's assigned pay group, and marital statuses that don’t have a country assigned. If the employee isn't assigned a pay group, this drop-down list shows only marital statuses that don’t have countries assigned.
- Note: Country assignment for marital status isn't enforced in the HR Import.
- Select an option in the Benefits Group drop-down list that corresponds to the marital status record. The list of options is predefined. This value is used to group marital statuses for use with the Benefits module.
- Click Save.
