In the Employment Indicator tab of Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments, you can create values that are used to categorize employees into different groups that track the type of work associated with a job assignment. For example, the job assignment could be an apprenticeship or internship depending on how your organization structures it.
Dayforce comes with the system Seasonal employment indicator and you can create additional ones as needed. Creating employment indicators is optional but useful for tracking and reporting on job assignments.
You can also import employment indicators instead of manually adding them. See Org Setup Import and Export Configuration.
To create an employment indicator:
- Go to Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments and click the Employment Indicator tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name and, optionally, a description.
- Enter a value in the Reference Code field. Reference codes are used to export data to other applications. These codes must be unique and must not contain special characters.
- In the Country drop-down list, select one or more countries that the employment indicator is available for. If you leave this drop-down list cleared, the employment indicator is available regardless of country. See Configure Countries for Employment Indicators.
- Click Save.
