In the Assessments Setup feature, you can create as many assessments as your organization needs. When you’re adding an assessment, Dayforce shows the Save and close button. You can click this button at any time to save your progress and add the assessment to the All assessments list with the Draft status. To continue working on a draft, find it in the assessments list, and in the Actions column, click the menu icon and select Open.
To create an assessment:
- Go to Assessments Setup.
- Click Create new.
- In the Assessment Details screen, enter a title and, optionally, a description and instructions for the assessment. Then, click Next.
- In the Assessment Builder screen, do the following to add questions to the assessments:
- Click Add question.
- Enter the question and select an answer type.
- If the answer type needs options, click Add another answer to enter one or more answers for the assessor to select from.
- If you want to mark the question as required in the assessment, select the Answer required checkbox.
- If you want to give the assessor somewhere to enter comments, select the Add area for notes checkbox.
- Click Save.
- Repeat the steps for additional questions, and then click Next. If needed, you can click the Move up or Move down buttons to change the position of questions in the assessment. You can also duplicate or delete questions from each question’s action menu.
- In the Settings screen, do the following to configure how the assessment should be sent out and completed:
- In the Criteria section, in the Learning activity Type drop-down list, select the types of learning activities that you want to use the assessment for.
- In the field that’s added for each learning type, select one or more courses, events, or learning plans.
- For courses and learning plans, use the checkbox below the drop-down list to specify whether you want to send an assessment for all employees or only for employees who are required to complete the learning activity. By default, the checkbox is selected, and the assessment is sent only if the learning is required.
- Under Delay period, select one of the following options to specify when the assessment is delivered to assessors:
- No delay: Sends the assessment right after the learning activity is completed.
- 1 day: Sends the assessment one day after the learning activity is completed.
- 5 days: Sends the assessment five days after the learning activity is completed.
- Custom: Lets you enter a custom number of days to wait before sending the assessment.
- In the Assign Assessor section, select the person who’s responsible for filling out the assessment, and then specify how long they have to complete the assessment.
- (Optional) Click Preview in the top-right corner to see the assessment as it’s shown to the assessor. When you’re done, click the back button to return to the configuration screen.
- Click Publish. Dayforce sends the assigned assessor a notification when an assessment becomes available for them in the Assessments feature.
