Create Additional Response Options

The possible outcomes of a Decision object are represented by the Response property of the lines used to connect the Decision object to other objects. By default, the available options are:

  • Accept
  • Accept With Warnings
  • Cancelled
  • False
  • Reject
  • Resubmit
  • Timeout
  • True
  • Withdraw

You can add other response options as well.

For each response option used in the workflow, a corresponding button is shown at the bottom of the form. Clicking the button will trigger the path within the workflow identified by the response option. For example, if you use a Cancel response, clicking the Cancel button in the form will pass control to the object joined using the connector labeled Cancel.

To add another response option:

  1. Go to Workflow Administration > Message Response.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the response option.
  4. Enter a unique reference code in the Reference Code field to identify the response option. Reference codes are used to integrate Dayforce data with other applications. See Cross-Reference Codes.
  5. Click Save.

Edit and Delete Response Options

To modify a response option, select it in the response list then change its properties and click Save.

To delete a response option, select it in the response list and then click Delete. You will be asked to confirm your request. Click Save to apply the change.

Note: You can’t modify or delete any of the default response options. Also, you can’t delete a response option if it’s currently being used in a workflow diagram.
