Copy Benefits Decision Support Configurations

Copying Benefits Decision Support configurations saves you time and allows you to work ahead. You can quickly create a configuration for a plan each year (as recommended) by copying an existing configuration and making small changes. The ability to copy configurations also allows you to use similar configurations across plans. In both cases, you can do this in advance of when you need these configurations by setting effective dates in the future.

When you copy a decision support configuration, you can do one of the following:

• Copy the configuration to the same plan
  • The entire configuration is copied.
• Copy the configuration to a different plan
  • Everything except the Option Configuration information is copied because the options in the two plans are different. You can copy the configuration only to a plan that's already set up in Benefits Decision Support.

Both of these procedures are outlined below.

To make a copy of a decision support configuration within the same plan:

1. Go to Benefits Setup > Benefits Decision Support.
2. In the left sidebar, click the configuration that you want to copy.
3. Click Copy.
4. In the Copy dialog box, select Same Plan. Dayforce creates a copy of the configuration with an Effective From value of today.
5. Update the settings as required.
6. Click Save.

The previous configuration end-dates the day before the Effective From date of the copied configuration.

To copy a decision support configuration to a different plan:

1. Go to Benefits Setup > Benefits Decision Support.
2. In the left sidebar, click the configuration that you want to copy.
3. Click Copy.
4. In the Copy dialog box, select Different Plan.
5. In the drop-down list, select the plan that you want to add the copied configuration to. Dayforce creates a copy of the configuration with all of the same details except the Option Configuration settings. The Effective From value for the configuration is today.
6. Add Option Configuration settings.
7. Update other settings as required.
8. Click Save.

The previous configuration end-dates the day before the Effective From date of the copied configuration.
