Configure the Weekly Order

The weekly order controls the order that days are scheduled. You can configure a weekly order hierarchy so that Dayforce prioritizes specific days or day types when scheduling with autofill. The following days and day types are supported:

  • Specific days of the week.
  • All days.
  • Weekdays and weekends.
  • Holidays.
  • Busiest, second busiest, and third busiest days.

For example, you can set up a weekly order hierarchy so that Dayforce schedules your busiest days first:

When you run autofill with this configuration, Dayforce schedules the first, second, and third busiest days first, followed by the remaining days of the week.

Important: Dayforce schedules your days using your customized weekly order only when you run autofill and when the Explicit Day of Week Ordering client property is enabled. This client property is located in System Admin > Client Properties in the Properties tab, in the Scheduling section. See Scheduling.

To configure the weekly scheduling order:

  1. Go to Schedule Setup > Assignment Policy and click the Weekly Order tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name and, optionally, a description of the weekly order.
  4. Click anywhere in the cell containing the arrow icon (). A panel opens where you can determine the sort criteria.
  5. Use the arrows to move the order criteria from the Available column to the Selected column.
  6. To further specify the weekly order, use the arrows in the Selected column.
  7. Click Save.
