To configure the second instance of this rule:
- Go to Pay Setup > Pay Policy.
- Select a pay policy. The pay policy’s details open in a slide-out panel.
- Enter a name and description for the rule. Because this is the second instance of a rule that appears twice in the same ruleset, you should name this version “Shift Length Overtime Rule 2.”
- In the Rules Configuration tab, click the add icon (
) and select Rule in the drop-down list.
- In the Type drop-down list, select Shift Length Overtime Rule.
- Define the settings as follows:
- Pay Category to assign for overtime: Select the pay category under which weekly overtime is paid. For the purposes of this example, select Shift Length OT (1.5x).
- Number of minutes required for overtime: Define the minimum number of minutes that must be worked in a shift before worked minutes are considered overtime. For the purposes of this example, enter 720.
- Rate type: Select Multiplier in the drop-down list.
- Rate output: Select Blended Rate in the drop-down list.
- Pay Categories eligible: Select any eligible pay categories to include in the rule calculation. For the purposes of this example, select the following:
- Daily OT (1.5x)
- Regular (REG)
- Shift Length OT (1x)
- Shift Length OT (1.5x)
- Weekly OT (1.5x)
- Shifts to consider: Select Both current day and split shifts in the drop-down list.
- Do not double pay overtime on pay categories: Select any applicable pay categories that pay overtime and the rule checks that the pay categories haven’t already awarded an overtime premium for same the period through a different pay rule. For the purposes of this example, select the following:
- Daily OT (1.5x)
- Shift Length OT (1.5x)
- Weekly OT (1.5x)
- Click Save.
