Configure the California Meal Break Premium Clock Entry Time Based Rule

For Dayforce to pay out meal penalty premiums, you need to apply the California Meal Break Premium Clock Entry Time Based Rule to the pay policies assigned to any employee who should receive meal penalty premiums for missed meals.

Pay policies are used to assign configurable pay rules and qualifiers in Dayforce to employees so that they’re paid correctly. These policies should already be configured in Dayforce. See Configure Pay Policies.

To implement the configuration for this example, you specify the same thresholds in the rule’s configuration. Specifically, 240 in the Time worked for first meal penalty to be paid setting and 480 in the Time worked for the second meal penalty to be paid setting. The rest of the configuration determines the details of the premiums the rule pays out. See California Meal Break Premium Clock Entry Time Based Rule.
