Best practice when setting up the payroll data export configuration is to filter out content that you do not need to include in the export using the various filters provided.
Before You Begin: Be sure that you are familiar with the concepts described in the topic Payroll Contributions: Configurable Fields Tab.
To set up a payroll data export configuration for all pay groups using only the Configurable Fields tab:
- Go to Integrations > Data Export Setup > Payroll Data Export and click Payroll Contributions.
- Click New.
- In the Configurable Fields tab, in the Name field in the list, enter a meaningful name for the data export (for example, Fidelity 401(k) Export), then enter a meaningful description in the Description field.
- In the Effective From field, specify the effective start date for this configuration. This marks the effective start date, but also helps to control the option to automatically create the file upon payroll commit if you’re using a scheduled background job or if you’re using the multi pay groups options.
- In the Active column, select the checkbox to make the configuration active.
- In the General Options section, complete the following:
- In the Receiver ID field, enter the number that Dayforce Link provided you for the receiver ID, which identifies the vendor.
- (Optional) In the Client Name field, enter the name of your organization.
- (Optional) In the Vendor Name field, enter the name of your organization’s vendor.
- In the Country selection list, select the country or countries that apply to this export. If you are only exporting for pay groups for one country, specify that country alone. You can select more than one country.
- In the Payroll Accumulations section, complete the following:
- In the Earning Accumulations selection list, select the relevant earning groupings.
- In the Deduction Accumulations selection list, select the relevant deduction groupings that you set up in Payroll Setup > Groupings.
- Add any other filtering options you want to use.
- In the Payroll Parameters and Limits section, select any earning definitions, deduction definitions, or tax parameters that you want to filter by and set whether direct deposit and legal entity details at the employee level are included.
- In the Payroll Transaction Details section, select any earning, deduction, garnishment, or tax transactions that you want to include or filter by.
- Determine if you need to set additional configuration options (see note below).
- If so, click the Filter Options sub-tab and proceed to the next section of this topic: Configure the Data Export with Filter Options.
- If not, click Save.
