Configure WCB Contributions for Virtual Canadian Employees

In general, Dayforce uses the location of the work assignment to calculate the WCB deductions for Canadian employees. When a work location override is configured, the override location is used instead. However, for an employee who works remotely, the primary residence is always used to determine the WCB rate, even when there is a work location override configured for that employee.

In Dayforce, remote employees are configured as virtual employees in their HR profile in People. See Virtual Checkbox for Canadian Employees in the HR Administration Guide.

For example, a virtual employee resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their employer in Ontario has configured a work location override for Vancouver, British Columbia. However, the employee's WCB rate is still based on the location of the primary residence, which in this case is Manitoba.
