In Dayforce, transaction types dictate how balances can be altered by transactions. For example, depending on the transaction type, Dayforce can decrement or increment balances.
Dayforce features system-generated transaction types that can’t be edited or deleted, but you can also add custom transaction types.
You can view transactions from custom transaction types in People in the Work > Balances screen, in the Actual Balances section when you expand a balance record:
- Transactions from custom transaction types are shown in the Transactions list.
- Transactions from system-generated transaction types are shown in the System Transactions list.
Role feature access: Pay Setup > Pay Setup > Balances > Balance Transaction Type
To add a transaction type:
- Go to Pay Setup > Balances and click the Transaction Types tab.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name and description for the transaction type.
- Click Save.
