Configure Template HR Events

You can configure triggering forms and triggered workflows for all template HR events. While you must add a triggered workflow if you want Dayforce to perform any tasks in association with the HR event, adding triggering forms is optional in most cases.

The following five template HR events can be made employee declarable and if you do so, you must add at least one triggering form:

  • Dependent Added
  • Dependent Disability Status Changed
  • Dependent Ended
  • Dependent Student Status Changed
  • Dependent Tobacco Usage Changed

Important: If any template HR events not in the list above were configured to be employee declarable prior to updating to Release 57, Service Pack 2, then the Employee Declarable checkbox and the Description field are both editable. However, if you clear the Employee Declarable checkbox and save the event, those fields will become read-only, and you will not be able to make the event employee declarable again, as is the case with other template HR events. It is recommended that you do this for any template events not listed above to avoid having employees trigger Life Event Enrollments for events that aren’t intended to have this effect.

To configure a template HR event:

  1. Go to Workflow Administration > HR Events.
  2. In the left sidebar, click the event that you want to configure.
  3. To make an (eligible) event employee declarable:
    1. Select the Employee Declarable checkbox.
    2. (Optional) Update the description. You don’t need to change the description, but a description is required for an employee declarable event.
  4. To add triggering forms for the HR event, do the following in the Triggering Forms section:
    1. Click Add.
    2. Click in the Form column and use the drop-down list to select the form that you want to add.
    3. Click in the Effective Start column and select or enter a date from which the form will trigger the event.
    4. (Optional) If the HR event expires, after which it shouldn’t be associated with the selected form, click in the Effective End column and select or enter a date.
    5. Repeat these steps to add more triggering forms, as required.
  5. To add triggered workflows, repeat the steps that you completed for adding forms but in the Triggered Workflows section.
  6. Click Save.
